Factories Act 1948
The Factories Act, 1948, is a comprehensive Indian legislation enacted to regulate
labor, ensuring safe, healthy, and fair working conditions for workers in
manufacturing units. It mandates specific standards for safety, health, and welfare,
including working hours, leave, and prohibited child labor. The Act applies to
factories with 10+ workers using power or 20+ without power. The Act applies
throughout India and is designed to prevent industrial accidents and exploitation.
